Book A Visit

Remembrance

A8M gave a presentation in Friday’s assembly on Anne Frank, which they repeated in the Remembrance Service on Sunday evening. It gave a full story of the exertions faced by her family from their escape from Germany to Amsterdam and then, after the German invasion of that city in May 1940, their move into hiding for the next two years in the attic of a house in the centre of the city until they were eventually found and arrested. Excerpts from her diary were read showing not only her declining spirit over that period but also her phenomenal bravery, resilience and perception. The class performed very well on both occasions.

The Lockers Park community came together this morning to pay their respects to those that lost their lives in the two world wars.
