Snow Moon

Posted: 12th February 2020

Whenever the clouds part to reveal clear skies we zip the telescope out and take a look at the night sky! Early evening is a fabulous time to see Venus! The boys loved to see the constellations of Orion’s Belt, Ursa Major, Casio Pier and the North Star which were so easy to spot! It has been a great opportunity to discuss the information we learnt from our trip to the Bedford Observatory! The full moon is an amazing sight; called the Snow Moon or the Hungry Moon due to the February weather and lack of food. It’s a fabulous, interactive way for the boys to learn about the wonders of the universe!
