Lockers Park School pupils join Children’s Parliament

Posted: 1st June 2022

Arth and Edward, Year 6 pupils, joined primary school students from all over the UK to debate ‘How Do We Make The World A Safer Place?’ in a customised online ‘Children’s Parliament’ forum on Thursday 26th May.

They debated the Russia/Ukraine War, environmental catastrophe, food and water shortages and the pandemic response, amongst other topics related to children’s safety.

Lockers Park Headmaster Gavin Taylor says, “Children’s Parliament inspires and encourages children to take an interest in their future, and demonstrates the power of listening to others and working together. I am proud of Arth and Edward for embracing this unique opportunity to debate with other children about how to make the world a safe place.”

Last year, on Friday, the 29th October 2021, the Children’s Parliament broke a world record for the most primary school students matched to parliamentary constituencies, with 276 children participating.
