What a weekend for Seb in Year 3, who took to the track at the iconic Goodwood Revival, competing in the much-loved Settrington Cup in his little Austin pedal car.
There was an extra special moment when Seb was interviewed by a racing driver from the TVR Team, who was delighted to discover that the team’s own racing car had inspired the new wrap on Seb’s Austin. A brilliant meeting between a young motorsport enthusiast and the team that helped inspire his design!
Seb also had some fantastic Lockers Park support trackside. The Gibson family were there to cheer him on across his two days of racing, and certainly embraced the spirit of the occasion! With Mrs Gibson’s eye for fashion, it was perhaps no surprise that the whole family looked perfectly at home at Goodwood, dressed from head to toe in fabulous Revival style. We think they may have been giving the cars some competition for attention!
With its celebration of British motoring, heritage, style and tradition, the Goodwood Revival feels rather fitting for Lockers Park too. As a school with more than 150 years of history, we are proud of our own traditions while encouraging our boys to embrace new experiences, pursue their interests and throw themselves wholeheartedly into every opportunity.
From the vintage cars and fabulous fashions to the excitement of racing at Goodwood, it was certainly a weekend to remember, and wonderful to see two Lockers Park families sharing in such a quintessentially British occasion.
Well done, Seb — we loved seeing the Lockers Park badge out on the track once again!
