We are always delighted to hear about the interests and achievements our boys pursue beyond the classroom, and Year 7 pupil Sacha has certainly given us something to celebrate!
A keen angler, Sacha recently landed an enormous 13lb barbel while fishing at his local fishing club – an impressive catch that earned him a feature in Angling Times.
And the secret to his success? A cube of Spam!
Those who have followed Sacha’s fishing adventures may remember that bread proved successful on a previous occasion, but this time a change of bait helped him reel in this magnificent fish.
Landing a barbel of this size is no mean feat. It takes patience, skill and plenty of perseverance – qualities that fit particularly well with our Lockers Park Learner Profile. Sacha’s dedication to his hobby is a wonderful example of being Resilient and Inquisitive, developing his knowledge and learning from every experience by the water.
We love seeing the huge range of interests our boys develop away from school and the enthusiasm they bring to them. To see Sacha’s achievement recognised in the Angling Times makes it even more special.
Congratulations, Sacha – 13lb is going to take some beating!
