International boarders are welcome at Lockers Park, a tradition that has existed for more than 150 years. We value the richness and diversity that our international boys bring to our community. Many prestigious senior schools across the UK recommend Lockers Park as a friendly and warm place to learn these skills prior to transferring at 13 and we are proud that boys have joined us from all over the world to prepare for excellent UK independent senior schools.
Customised Learning
A significant percentage of our full boarders are from overseas and we have deep experience of working with boys who have arrived from a different country. We ensure that each boarder receives an individual academic and extra-curricular programme to help them settle in and adapt.
We are also able to help boys with English as a second language, offering one-to-one English language tuition to accelerate proficiency and fluency, ready for senior school. The holistic nature of our education means that boys who come to Lockers Park truly learn to understand British culture and the British schooling system and curriculum.
A Supportive System of Pastoral Care
Our excellent pastoral care record means that all our overseas boarders are part of a secure family structure, ensuring they feel welcome and cared for. Our boarding Houseparents, Mr and Mrs Newman and their family offer a kindly and nuturing environment that helps boys thrive. There is always someone to listen to any boy, whether the Housemaster, teacher or group tutor.
Making Arrangements for Your Son to Join Us
Boys living overseas must have an appointed guardian in this country. This is the parent’s responsibility to arrange, but we can help with the names of reputable Guardianship Agencies.
We are also happy to arrange a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies school sponsorship for pupils who require this and we support you throughout the process.
