Our Pre Prep (Little Lockers) curriculum focuses on academic topics such as Maths and Phonics, as well as Art, Drama, Nature & Environment and DT.
Our children are taught by experienced, caring teachers, including specialist teachers in Art, Music, Sport and Drama. Performance is regularly included in the timetable and boys are encouraged to develop their skills in oracy.
English studies are enhanced with regular reading opportunities where the staff read to pupils or the boys read on their own in a supportive environment, building on their lessons in phonics and writing.
Weekly Nature & Environment lessons teach children about the natural world around them and are part of our commitment to outdoor learning in both Pre Prep and the Prep School.
Little Lockers pupils enjoy a PE lesson each week where they engage in a wide variety of sports, learning gymnastics, football, and touch rugby as well as athletics in the summer term. In addition to learning different sports, the small class sizes in PE lessons allow us to help boys improve their general health, fitness and flexibility.
Every week, boys have a swimming lesson and in the summer they enjoy the school’s outdoor pool. From Reception, boys participate in the school swimming gala where they follow the lead of older pupils in competitive races that recognise and reward their achievements.
