We are a Prep School dedicated to helping every boy achieve his best in academics, skills and character. Our boys move on to a wide range of excellent senior schools, including Eton, Harrow, Westminster, Oundle and other respected destinations, with results reflecting their very best performance and heightened skills in oracy and a wide range of activities.
Strong Academics
In Years 3 to 5, we concentrate on numeracy, confident reading and comprehension, clear and disciplined writing, and strong problem-solving skills. Alongside this, we introduce the exam techniques and question styles boys will later encounter, so that by the time they reach the upper years, these formats are completely familiar.
Our approach to aptitude tests is structured so that by Year 6, boys are ready to excel in ISEB Common Pre-tests and any other assessment that they need to take.
Teaching in core academic subjects builds throughout the Prep School so that boys perform well in entrance and scholarship exams from Year 6 onwards. Boys in Years 7-8 work towards the ISEB Common Entrance Exam, a pre-requisite for entry to many senior schools at 13+ and an opportunity to experience major exams well ahead of GCSE.
Learning is supported by our optional Saturday School which provides additional training in aptitude tests and exam technique, as well as offering a broader education on core subjects, as well as current affairs, philosophy and ethics.

A Rich Programme of Activities
We offer a vibrant programme of activities that help boys develop character, physical fitness and resilience. Sport is an important part of Prep School life, with opportunities to enjoy team games, develop physical confidence, and experience competitive fixtures. Music and drama and the creative arts are integral to self-expression and the culture of our school.
Our clubs and societies – from coding, to chess, to hands-on STEM projects – encourage boys to explore new interests and deepen existing passions. Many of these take place as part of our highly-regarded wraparound care that keeps boys engaged from breakfast until after supper.
Outdoor learning, nature trails, adventurous trips and regular whole-school events all contribute to a lively and enriching school experience.

Boarding for Increased Confidence
For many boys, an integral part of a Lockers Park education includes an element of boarding, whether it’s for one night a term or as a full boarder. The richness of the extended day is rewarding for all our boys, including our international boarders. As many of the best-known public schools in the UK are full boarding schools, boarding experience gives boys the confidence to apply to full or weekly boarding schools and is well-regarded on their applications.
