Sport sits at the heart of life at Lockers Park. Every boy is active every day, developing physical skill, confidence, resilience and a genuine enjoyment of sport. Our approach is simple: participation is for all, excellence is encouraged, and team spirit is celebrated.
Our boys enjoy a varied sporting programme throughout the year. Competitive matches in these sports form an important part of school life. Every week, boys represent Lockers Park in fixtures against other schools. These matches are not only about improving skill; they nurture teamwork, sportsmanship and the chance to engage with other schools.
Every two years, our senior cricketers take part in an unforgettable cricket tour to South Africa. This tour is a cornerstone of our cricketing tradition, combining high-level competition with cultural experiences that broaden horizons and build lasting memories.
Alongside the main sports, boys from Pre-Prep to Year 4 receive weekly swimming lessons, helping them build water confidence and technique from an early age.
Every summer term, we host a swimming gala in our outdoor pool, where boys from Reception to Year 8 compete to win races for their Set (house).
Beyond the curriculum, a wide range of after-school activities ensures every boy can discover and enjoy new physical challenges. These are constantly evolving but currently include:
There truly is something for every interest and ability. We are proud that the sports that our boys play in their after school activities lead on to competition in national tournaments and championships. We regularly enter teams in swimming, squash and skiing events.
In the summer term, the Set Athletics competition is a major event in the school calendar. Coaching focuses on technique, stamina and personal achievement, with the event bringing the whole school and parents together.
We are able to offer talented young sportsmen the opportunity to develop their talents and work towards senior school scholarships. Contact us to find out more.
