Becoming a Lockers Park Boy

Academic success

Our boys learn in small classes with plenty of individual attention. The varied nature of learning at Lockers Park includes inspiring lessons, refreshers and broader studies at Saturday School, outdoor learning and a host of meaningful and enjoyable activities such as debating, drama, music, chess, maths for fun, science week, book week and art extension projects.

We focus on metacognition – learning to learn – which boys begin to engage with from Year 3. This approach is combined with support to improve in all areas where boys are capable of more and is managed with sensitivity to suit each individual child.

Results are evident in the senior school places and scholarships offered to Lockers Park boys – and the success that all our boys achieve in reaching their potential.

Confident communicators

Lockers Park boys can discuss a wide variety of topics and perform well in interviews and other challenging social situations. They are aware of the world and socially conscious, having learnt to listen and show kindness to others.

Activities such as debating encourage Lockers Park boys to understand the world and argue their position with confidence and sometimes humour. This confidence is excellent preparation for life.

Sport is a key element of the Lockers Park day with every boy engaged in team games and individual sports. Sports provide a chance to unwind and let off some steam while developing strength, skill and physical fitness.
