Safer Internet Day

Posted: 5th February 2019

Each week at Lockers we have a whole school assembly. Today Mr Taylor started by congratulating all those boys who had got their best Effort Grade or one of the top Effort Grade scores in the school. (These boys are rewarded with a lemon sherbert at the end of the assembly.) Then we moved into the main part of the assembly – Safer Internet Day, which is a national event, organised by the UK Safer Internet Centre, that takes place in February each year. This year the theme was “Be the change; Unite for a better internet.” This very much focussed on images posted on the internet – were they appropriate? Did they give away too much information? What could you do if you saw something that you didn’t like? We also mentioned mobile phones and text messages and computer security in general. There is a lot to think about!
