Bio-Diversity at Lockers Park

Posted: 25th June 2019

This term we have had to be very adaptable due to the weather. The plan had been to make a fire and cook some s’mores but the overnight deluge put a damper on that. Instead the pupils were given a challenge. How many different species of leaf could they find? The top pupil found over 20 different species of leaf. We have a huge range of tree species in our grounds and this leads to a large number of animals and invertebrates. Judging by the number of greenfly on the sycamore trees we must have millions of animals living in the Lockers Park grounds.
